My Dear Kath,
I feel ashamed for
not having written congratulating
you before this.
Kath I was very thrilled
when I heard the good news, &
to know that you were well.
I couldn't thank your Aunt
enough for letting me know,
it was very nice of her.
I have been ringing the
hospital each day to see how
you both are progressing.
I am sure they must know
2/
my voice by now. On Friday I
made enquiries as to when I
might be able to see you, & the
nurse or Sister who ever it was
answered, said after seven days.
I dont think that I will be
able to come out any night during
the week, so will come on Sunday
afternoon. So please dont think
that I have forgotten you old dear
Kath I would have given
any thing to have seen the
expression on Mickie (Daddy)
face, when he heard the news
I dare say there has been a
bit of celebrating going on.
Every one in the dept was
3/
very pleased to hear of the news
& to know that both were well.
I am afraid I will have to
bring this note to a close now,
for there are a few people wondering
about for away of a change.
Will give you all the news
when I see you. Cherrio for
the present Mummy.
Love to you both
Your old pal

Darling Kay,
Hullo darling
mine, and I hope you &
the little man are in good
shape as I am at present
unfortunately I am still
resident in this benighted
spot but still hopeful, if very
impatient of an early
departure. Nothing further
to report since my last screed
but apparently you can't hurry
these high officials damn
them. So, for the time being,
I suppose I must contain
myself but tis a strain,
I can tell you.
