INSTRUCTIONS TO SOLDIER.
1. You will produce this pay book to obtain pay and at any other time when called upon to do so by an Officer, Warrant
Officer, or N.C.O., or a member of the Provost Corps, or a member of the Civil Police, or any pay representative.
2. When you draw any pay or other money you will give a receipt for the amount as an Acquittance [[?]] which will also
show Army No. Pay Book No.. Pay Book Line No.. and progressive Istal debit. The paying officer will enter
the amount of the payment on the "Cash Payments" page of the pay book and will sign the entry.
3. When you deposit any money for credit in this pay book you must ensure that an official receipt is issued for the money
by the pay representative and affixed by him in the back of the pay book. The pay representative must also enter the credit as a deduction on the "Cash Payments" page of the pay book.
4. You will not make any entries in this pay book except to write your specimen signature where required.
5. If you lose this pay book you will report the loss immediately to the Orderly Room, which will request the Paymaster
to issue a duplicate pay book. No payment can be made to you in respect of the period before the date of reporting
the loss until your account has been checked.
6. If you are in an area where banking facilities are not available your Unit Pay Representative can arrange to credit
the whole or part of your credit balance is any person or institution in Australia.
