Still eating pretty fair - missed out on letter

Tues attached to Hospital to move to Gaol with

them. squared wired off not allowed out.

Jack Marshall still very bright.

June 1st - 11th Have been paid $6-50 - Had 3 Hot

Baths Syd in with Dysentry - a trip into

Singapore things very quiet - hardly

anyone about - didn't work - heard

that D" Force had gone on - prices  very

dear Cigars 4.5 cts Pineapples $4-

June 11-24 Shifted Gaol on 15th June in

the cells - with Snow Blue & Vic & Haydn

lost my Fountain Pen - Got a dose of

Dengue Fever - Jack M. got radio

message. Syd & Billy Rule still

in Hospital

June 24-30  Lads from Sumatra

brought in from being torpedoed

in Malacca Straits - Squance in

town - Bennett & Alec caught with

clothes - Francis for Two-up

Paid 31 days at25cts a day

Still a rumour we go to Japan

Jack had further piece off his leg.

July 1-7  92 bags. "A." Force in town

some more brought to Hospital

Jack Maskiell doing well

Bennett & Alec get 60 days

July 8-15  Am in Hospital with Beri-

Beri (H) also suspected spot in chest

which turned out negative - Arthur

got 5 letters Tom Russell (3) - still none

for me - learnt off one of the A. Force

boys that Bill Stephens Harry Fuhrmann

& Fred Annesley were O.K.

Syd back from Kranji.

July 15-Aug 3  During this period

Camp Command has changed

Lt Col Newey of volunteers in charge.

Have had very heavy fever

for last 4 days but cannot get

a positive slide - after 2 more

they have left off - 100 men in

from Singapore.

Aug 3-19 Don Marshall brought

from Outram Rd Gaol (Dead)

Weighed about 40lb -

I am still in Hosp

From Aug 19 - Sept 19

have been shipped overalls

again - a party of Engineers

 

gone into Singapore on a 

working party - malaria

bout on day I was to be discharged

on 15 day course.

Sept 19th to 28th Received letter from 

Dad - John & Mrs Ramsay with word 

about Nonoies 3rd - no word from

Ag yet or nipo I hope nothing wrong

Have come down under 8 st in

weight - to be discharged to Convalesce

Depot this Afternoon 28th Sept.

Oct In Con depot - started to put on

weight - enjoying meals

Nov 5  Bonfire Day  & Low - Shell - 

3 Started in Cookhouse -

Rice cooking - Before major Hunt

on Berns Birthday - Tom & the boys

gave me card on mine -no mail

out of this last seventy bags. yet

29th & 30th Pops & Ags Birthday

5 Dec Finished in Cookhouse

10 Dec Returned to unit NONIES BIRTHDAY

29 Jan  Back in with Malaria - very 

heavy

Feb 1 Big Air Raid Came over lasted

1½ hours - believe a lot of Damage

Done. - Planes still coming over.

Mch  red Cross Ship in - Food, med,

Clothing - Rice ration down to 8 ozs

 - 1½ lb food a day - guts is touching

backbone - a big party to move

to town - allowed to send
