mutilators of Books. McNewey is fixing them

a yarn. Danny, Jack McMahon & Darky

Arthur Gilbert & I have quite a few Talks

Move Red & Ration into B.S.D. last

Discussing 'Living things & you' with Jack Scully

for 2 hrs in evening. Soap Draw (or [[Bladd?]]

Lib 0900 - 1230 hrs. Check-up on New Books 90

stolen. I am very weary with the way work

as to be done up there at present

evening, Looks like last of Red & today.

of big Party to leave Changi. Parties that

left in the last few days, went to Roberts

Selerang. Temple Hill, Sembarang.

Don & Co in for a while this evening

Rations poor. Rice, Green, Blachang, Maize

Denny & Darky in to see me in evening we

built a few. Bakehouses & baked a few batches.

up plan of Bakehouse with Danny. Move of X

Party to move. X party cancelled.

Friday 22nd

Lib 0900 - 1230-hrs. Down to see Syd & Don.

Talking to the Boss for 2 hrs.

Saturday 23rd

Lib 0900 - 1545 hrs Drawing Plan of Bakehouse

7½ bags of Mail for A.I.F. starting to come

in now. Card from Mum 31-1-45 Good

news for me.

Sunday 24th

Lib 0900 - 1230 hrs. New hours Mon-Tues-

Thurs-Fri. 1945 - 2130 hrs. Don in Hosp with

Malaria. Stump wrenched, not too good.

Monday 25th

Lib 0900 - 1230 - 1400 - 1545 hrs. Talking to Bert &

Charlie for a time on Lighting.

Tuesday 26th

Lib 0900 - 1230 - 1400 - 1545 hrs. Told to move to

IV Group this week.

Wednesday 27th

Lib 0900 - 1230 - On plan with Bert.

Thursday 28th

Rations. Stump a bit of a nuisance.

Not being able to wear leg irks me

Capt Smith says probably a strain & bruise

Giving stump a rest up a tree. Down to see

Curry Powder $1-20 ozs: Gula $16 16: Cigars $1-4

Cigarettes $4-60¢ Packet 20: Soap Toilet $3.

Lib 0930 - 1230. 1945 - 2130hrs. Gave stump a try-out

at 2200 hrs. Still doing plans of House, I

think a lot of this home, & am very curious to 

get Back & get started in on it.

Saturday. 14th.

Lib 0930-1230 hrs. Danny in for a yarn. Go on

a visiting Tour at 2200 hrs.

Sunday 15th 

Lib 0930-1230 hrs. Type all afternoon. Canteen

prices rising still, w/bait $32 lb. D/prawns $28

Blachang $18 lb. Tobacco $8.80 ozs. Went to 

church at 1930 hrs, then down to Hosp Area

Monday 16th 

Lib 0930 - 1230 - 1930 - 2130 hrs. Made some

Chilli Sambol & was it hot?

Tuesday 17th 

Lib 0930 - 1100 - 1545 - 1700 hrs. Down to Hosp

Area for a stroll in the evening.

Lib 0930 - 1230 hrs. I.J.A don't seem to be too

friendly towards us now, they are evacuating on to

our Gardens in the way of Fruit (Papayas & Bananas)

then Cancelled. Evening on Plans.

Syd, getting couple of ideas out of Popular

I.J.A Censoring Books 30 per day. Mail coming

in very slowly. Yarn to Boss for Hour

Wednesday 25th 

Lib 0930 - 1230 hrs. Reading & in the Sun this

afternoon. Down to Hosp Area at  night

9 planes over. New Types.

Thursday 26th 

0930-1100hrs. Don up in afternoon: Plane

over, very high up. Weather is excellent at 

present, very clear nights full moon; Days are

cloudless with a cool breeze, 

Friday 27th

talking to Jack.S. & Danny.

At work all day recataloguing the the Non-fiction 

Library. Planes Over. Charles out with [[?]].

General Saito on Inspection, of Instillatons

Tuesday 31st 

Lib 0930 hrs. - 1230 hrs: Pay $7-50¢. Down to 

see Syd. played cards for an hour.

Canteen Prices, Tobacco $8.50 ozs. stalk 25.¢ oz

nuts $5-50. Tap root $4-30¢ lb. Oil $4.30 pt.

Planes seem to just fly over as they like
