My Country" Music, all entertainment must

finish by 2100 hrs. Blackout liable at any

time.

Swim 1000hrs. Restrictions on all outdoor

sports & concerts put on by General "Saity"

many reasons by P.O.W.'s Some say

for singing "God Save the King"

 

OCTOBER.

Saturday 14th   '44

Library 1100 hrs. Camp very quite of

evening now. All white clothes to be

dyed dark color. Darts & Cards very

Popular. Soy Beans issued 80 Gramms.

Sunday 15th.

Day off. Bed de-bugged sewing of

shorts & mending Mattress. Look at

Photos. Stroll around camp in Evening

Monday 16th.

Library 1100 hrs. Life is very Dull. A nice

Garden is being put in at A.G.H. area.

Tuesday 17th.

Library 1100hrs. Double Guards put on for

A.R.P. Practice. Machine Guns set up.

All movement between Areas stopped.

Blackout, no smoking, nights seem

much longer food very ordinary 

 

Wednesday 18th.

Library 1100hrs. A.R.P. still on. Ban on Concerts

sports etc still Taboo. Not allowed out

of Huts at night. Lot of Arial movement.

Thursday 19th.

Library 1100hrs. A.R.P. off. Camp still thick

with Guards. All wearing "Tin- hats" & War

equipment. Swim 1400hrs. Thinking a lot

of Home these days & wondering when it

will all end, no news is a bit of no good.

Friday 20th

Library 1100hrs. Swim 1400 hrs. Sawmill put

up in camp to make Tool handles.

Blackout at 2200 hrs.

Saturday 21st.

Lib. 1100 hrs. Blackout wizzed on at
1115 hrs. Japs screaming everywhere

Issue Weekly 1 sheet Paper .1 oz Weed.

Fortnightly 2 ozs Soap.

Sunday 22nd.   1944.

Library 1100 hrs. Day of Rest. Sport

allowed on Sundays & Wednesdays. All

night. Lectures & Entertainments must

cease by 2100hrs.

Monday 23rd.

Library 1100hrs. Swim 1400hrs. Canteen Prices

Sugar $10. Coconuts 90¢. Cucumbers $1.50¢.

Tobacco $1.80. Trouble over slaying of Pig.

Selling of Watches - getting caught, threat

to stop all Veg's.

Tuesday 24th.

Library 1100 hrs. Much rain - no swim.

More Trouble "P" Party blokes caught

in Cotton Racket. All hair of A.I.F.

to lose hair.

Wednesday 25th.

Lib 1100hrs. Met Horrie Huthnance first

time for 10 years.

Spent evening yarning with Boss.

Library 1100 hrs. duties are pick up from

IP to Jail & return, reference books.

Work in Fiction Branch.

Lib. 1100 hrs. Walk around Area.

 

NOVEMBER.

Lecture:- Australia thru the Windscreen

Thursday 2nd.

Lib 1100 hrs. Outram Rd Patients in & Kranji

Music or singing only allowed Between

1300 - 2000 hrs Wed & Sat. Med - Classificat

1400hrs. Swim 1500 hrs. Mail coming in

slowly.

Friday 3rd

Lib. 1100 hrs. Swim at 1600 hrs. Plenty of

rain on return from Swim.

Saturday 4th

Lib. 1100 hrs. Swim 1600 hrs. I.J.A. Holiday of

some kind, Japs down for swim.

Sunday 5th

Air-raid at 1015 hrs - plenty of Planes over

& plenty of Ac- Ac. Bit of Shrapnel about -

Japanese War Manoevures & new Planes

 

Monday 6th

Library 1100 hrs Back on Ray-treatment

Iced - cake. Swim 1500 hrs.

Tuesday 7th.

Lib. 1100 hrs. Talk on wearing of Art-

Limbs by Mj. Hunt.

Wednesday 8th.

Lib. 1100hrs. Plane over, don't know who's

very high, scare; Drome Guard went thru

Thursday 9th.

Surgical Inspection by Capt Carl. at 1100 hrs

4th. Edition of Exile out. Cables coming in

for quite a few.

Friday 10th

Ray 0915 hrs, Lib 1100 hrs. Arthur down in

evening.

Saturday 11th.

Ray: Lib. 1100 hrs Armistice Day, I.J.A. all

on Bugles Temple Call. Lect. Aus. thou leads us
