31st, August 1956, for background information on your activities
as an escaped POW in Italy.
A thorough search of War Office records has now been made
and the report which you wrote on your return to the United
Kingdom has been found.
I am to add that a copy of your report is attached for
your retention and it is hoped that the information provided will
be of assistance when writing your book.

The War Office has referred me to you in order to
obtain a copy of the citation covering the award of the D.C.M.
to me during the Second World War. I have never seen the
citation and the only clue I have is that notice of the
award was published in the London Gazette - Ref:- L.G./36961/45.
