Frank Sherral Bissaker, Letters and documents, 1941-1942 - Part 8

Western Desert,
4 Oct. 42.
My Darling Wife, Sherrie xxxx,
Even though we are
11,000 miles apart my thoughts
will be with you, as always,
on Christmas Day. I want
you to spend a really
Happy & Bright Xmas,
even though these words
seem inopportune at such
a time as this. xxxx
I am very, very
proud of my 2 soldiers,
Sgt. Sherrie and Corporal
Terence & I want
you to have faith
in our early reunion
& to soldier on just
a little longer.
I love you both with all
my heart & always will.
Ever yours, Frank xxxx

To My own Darling, Sherrie Christmas, 1941.
Just a little gift which has travelled
1000's of miles & which carries with it
a wealth of Love to the best, prettiest,
and sweetest wife in the whole World.
I want you to be as Happy as possible
sweetheart, this Christmas, knowing that
I'll be with you & Junior early in the
New Year.
Captain Frank, our Voyage officer
very kindly offered to post this parcel
to you when he returned to Sydney.
All my love Sherrie darling, I'm quite
well & love & miss you more than ever.

At Sea 21 - Nov .41.
I bought this scent on the ship, dear, so
it has both a sentimental & a souvenir
value.
The photos on the front of the box have
a meaning, darling. You are supposedly
holding Junior in your arms, whilst
I proudly await my turn to have a nurse.
We expect to reach our port of
disembarkation very soon dear.
Thanks darling for Christmas cake,
it was very thoughtful of you to send
it with me & I won't open it until 25 Dec.
God Bless you Darling. All my love Frank XXXX
[*PS. The Eau de Cologne is to
be sprinkled on your nightie in
"Caringa" Hospital. Love Terry xxxx*]
