NAVAL MESSAGE
To: Cyril J Watson FROM: [[?]]
I have already sent you one note, which I hope you have
received by now.
Things are going on just the same, and we are being paid 10 cents
per day and up to date have received $2.
We have been working on Jurong. Rd and I managed to
get away to the spot where you left Lowe & Mc Dermott. I only
had a couple of seconds to spare, but found two mounds
of earth on the ledge you mentioned. I scraped around &
found a boot and the remains of leg in the boot so, presumed
body was intact under the mound.

Just as I was moving away I saw a pay book buried in the
mud. I brought it home and dried it out and identified it as
Lowe's. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to return and
investigate further but will do so if an opportunity occurs.
I should say that Lowe & McDermott are definitely buried
there, probably by Chinese.
I have handed the playbook on to Major Quick.
I also found your Ariel on the northern side of the road
about 300ft on B. [T?] side of De Souza Avenue, and appears
to be in good condition just as though it had been left there
in a hurry.
3 of your trucks are also burned out. - 2 in entrance to an
attap hut about 100 down from RHQ on opposite side of road
and one just near RHQ on side of road.
Hope everything is O.K. Regards to John and the other chaps
also Sgt. Major G.
Would you please send me my slippers if possible.
