Capt. Phillips. being wet
we did not leave the car
much returned home about

Mr Turner, Kind Censor
that he was, returned
two of my Letters
because I had
Somme where in France
on the top.

16 MARDI
Today Mr Howard came
home with about 25
bullet Holes in his
machine all 4 main spans
were shot through, some
burning with Tracer
ammunition,
plane struck off the
strength
OCTOBRE
17 MERCREDI
Forgot it was my Birthday
till 1, when I received
a Birthday card. Had Bung Eye
New machine returned
came today.
OCTOBRE
20 SAMEDI
Today. Lt. Howard shot his
prop and had a forced
landing at Bapaume
we went out with a
new prop and when we
arrived he had lent his
make & break to another
chap so we had to await
a new mag. This came but
darkness bid us go home.

21 DIMANCHE
we broke our Light Tender
in Bapaume and came back
in an RFC
This morning we off back
to finish the job at 5AM
When it was finished
we off round Veaux
till noon whence we
returned by our Lorrie
to our own aerodrome.
NOVEMBRE
19 LUNDI
Today 10 of us came out
to Bapaume to advance
aero Landing.
20 MARDI
Shelling continued
from Early morning
Barrage started 6-15
we took near 5 miles
on a 40 mile front
much flying was done
by our Sqd and near
all machines are well
damaged
NOVEMBRE
22 JEUDI
Today Lieut Howard
brought down two
Huns, Capt Philips
one fr. one.
Lt Howards machine
crashed on Landing.

Lt Connell was Killed
in aero spiral Dive
by DH's. no F. Today.
12 MERCREDI
Today Lt Connell was
Buried. The Engineman
& rigger on his machine
attended his funeral
DÉCEMBRE
13 JEUDI
Tonight news came
through of 6 M.Cs being
awarded to 60 Sqd Off.
Lt Howard Capt Phillips
Lt Holden, Lt Taylor
Cpt. Wilson Lt. Huxley,
Lt Howard came up to
the Guard room & thanked
George & I for the way we had
kept his machine up and
said it was due greatly
to its efficiency that he
had been so successful.
