THE "DO" AND "DON'T" RULES FOR STUDENTS.
Here are the traffic "Do" and Don't" rules for school
children:—
WHEN YOU ARE WALKING
DO NOT step into the roadway without looking both ways.
DO NOT run suddenly into the roadway.
DO NOT cross behind stationary vehicles.
DO NOT play games on the road.
DO NOT walk more than two abreast.
DO walk on the right-hand footpath or on the right-hand
edge of the road if there is no footpath.
DO try to cross the road where there are policemen or lights
to control the traffic.
DO walk quickly across the road when you are sure it is
clear but DO NOT run across.
DO wait until the bus that has carried you has moved away
before crossing the road.
Do try always to be wellbehaved and a credit to your school.
WHEN YOU ARE CYCLING
DO NOT ride on a bicycle that is too big for you.
DO NOT mount your bicycle on the wrong side of the street.
DO NOT carry other children or heavy loads on your bicycle.
DO NOT ride around corners too quickly.
DO see that your brakes, tyres, bell and lamp are in good
order.
DO keep to the left.
DO ride in single file in narrow streets and NEVER ride
more than two abreast.
DO give the proper signals before turning.
DO obey all traffic signals.
DO keep both hands on the handlebars.
DO steer straight and DO NOT wobble.
DO keep your eyes on the road ahead of you.
Do try always to be well behaved and a credit to your school.
