My Darling Rene,
Was rather disappointed today
missed out on a letter from you, maybe I'll
get a couple over the week. end.
Afraid I havnt much in the
way of news to tell you, things are much the
same here with us, nothing startling happening.
We are sort of expecting a move very shortly,
maybe another town or perhaps the jungle, but not
out of Malaya, we have been more than
comfortable in our quarters, maybe the next wont
be as elaborate; but we should be able to get by.
Received that address from the Q'cliff Council
today together with 2 canteen orders for 5/-. Am
enclosing the script with this, am afraid its not
.3.
for quite a while now.
Am wondering if you paid Wridgays
a visit while in town, just to see if our gear
is being looked after, would like very much
to be paying them a visit, to sort it away
again, heres hoping that day is not very far
distant.
Was reading a paper today came across
that fall of Ron's, certainly made a fair mess of
himself, have you heard how he is getting
along lately.
Well Sweetheart I cant find any news
to tell you for the present, so I'd better clue up.
'Cheerio'
With all my Love & Kisses

My Darling Rene,
Just a few lines to let
you know that I am OK, & still in the
land of the living, hope this finds you
and all at home in the best of health
etc.
Things are much the same
here with us, nothing startling happening
since I last wrote, & as I havnt been
out since my first visit to the city,
I havnt very much in the way of
news.
Missed out on a letter from
you in the last mail, perhaps I'll
get a couple at the end of the week,
or maybe you are catching up on me
for the few that you missed on
Up to date I think the weather
here is a lot cooler than at K.L
3.
that I picked up, young Taylor
should be getting a bit of a collection
by now.
Hav'nt had much exercise
since we arrived here, but there
is talk of a few games of Hockey &
Cricket very shortly.
Received a few of your papers
a few days ago, doesnt appear to be
much interest in football at all
these days, see Susie is still getting
his cut out of it.
Hope you have given up worrying
over the situation here, seems to be
at a stand still for the time being
at any rate, quite a lot seem to
think it will stay that way.
Well Sweetheart I cant find
any news to tell you for the present,
so I'd better clue up, hope to collect
some mail from you at the end of
the week.
"Cheerio"
All my Love & Kisses

My Darling Rene,
Received your most
welcome letter earlier in the week,
pleased to hear that you & all at
home are in the best of health etc.
Things are very much the
same here with us nothing startling
happening up to the present. Have
just finished putting in a couple
of miserable nights, have had 2
blackout practices, it certainly makes
things pretty miserable, the only thing
one can do is to go to bed early.
Found a beautiful swimming
pool here the other day, & spent a
fair bit of time there, enjoyed it very
much, but as usual caught a fair bit
of sun.
Pleased to hear that you had
.3.
I think that it came out very well
By all accounts you had a fair
yarn with Norm, it is a pity that
I cant get hold of Mr. Penrose's address
would like to drop him a line.
It was pretty hard on Pip sending
him to Darwin after blocking him
from going to the A.I.F, was rather
decent of the club giving him a send
off, he has certainly done quite a
fair bit for the town.
You still seem to be able to
knock out a fair time with the
dances, perhaps after all I am missing
out on something, but take a lot of
convincing dont I love.
I still have those 5 or 6 elephants
ready to send, will see if I can pick
up something else to send with them
over the week. end.
You didnt say how Ma was
getting along after her lay up, sincerely
hope that she is O.K again now.
Cant say that I've seen much
