My Darling Rene
Received two letters from
you yesterday, glad to hear that you

& all at home are O.K.

Tell Ma many thanks for

that order, it was very much appreciated,
funny.  think it was Saturday or Sunday
that I posted a letter to her.

Suppose by this you have

received the letter I wrote when I was pretty
hot under the collar, hope you dont start
getting even.
Sorry to hear that you have
lost your cobber next I hear that you will
be going up with her, would certainly
be better than putting in the winter at
the Cliff.
That was bad luck that
accident to Les Hutchings,  hope its not near
as serious as you say.
Am unable to return those stamps

-2.
as someone pounced on them before I knew
where I was, must have been too excited
knowing what the packet contained, I
think quite a lot of it, turned out a
lot better than I expected it to, all
I want now is the original, hope it wont
be too long either.
You were wrong about the photo
out of the paper you sent, none of our chaps
are in it, was taken a long way from here.
Glad you received those snaps
I sent, havent any more at present, may
be able to enclose a few next mail.
I doubt if that paper I sent will ever
turn up, but seeing you have seen a copy
you would get a fair idea of things around
this part of the Globe.
Will try & get hold of a box, &
send it along. have seen a few of those
ornaments you asked about. they seem to be
pretty decent, but fairly costly, but would be
worth it.
Suppose Mabel is well settled down
in her job by this. her idea of you being
old fashioned might be right, but your idea

are a long way cheaper than outside. would
need to be , just quietly
You still have the idea of the
wall to wall carpet, where is it going to
be still in the same old spot or do we
get a shift to town perhaps, either would
suit me very well at present, would be
agreeable to anything.
Well Sweetheart I cant find any
news to tell at present. I had better get
this posted.
Cheers

My Darling Rene,
Just a few lines to let you
know I'm O.K. hope this finds you and
all at home in the best of health, & that
you are enjoying yourself.
Quite a lot of papers etc

arrived here today.  so I'm catching up on
a bit of reading, papers from every state,
so we are doing pretty well.
Will be away for 3 days
from Monday, hope to see a bit more of the
country, can take a lot of that. Like these
trips very much, wish there were a few more
of them.
Went for a walk last night,
saw a decent sort of an Indian procession.
Some festival of some sort, was very colorful,
they had a lorry done up to represent a
temple, am lead to believe, there were
quite a lot of jewels etc on it, anyway they

Had a decent sort of concert here on
Wednesday night, was a pretty good show, all
our own crowd, had a few bottles of beer,
& a bit of supper afterwards. Went in to the
Anzac Club for the first time the other night,
but left it a bit late in the night, they
seem to have a fair show there, it is always
well patronized.
Well Sweetheart I cant find any news
to tell you for the present. had better finish
off, hoping that I will have a letter or
two waiting for me when I get back on
Wednesday.
