My Darling Rene,
Just the usual to let you
know that I'm O.K, & still in the land
of the living etc, hope this finds you
& all at home in the b est of health.
I am looking forward to
receiving a letter from you this afternoon,
as I have to write this before I get one
from you it makes it a bit hard. The
last 2 letters that I wrote to you may
have missed the mail, so don't blame
me if you miss out on a letter, as I was
misinformed as to the time they had to be
in, won't get caught again.
Had Noel take a few
snaps of me the other day, but something
went wrong with his camera, & they didn't
come out at all, so all I can enclose this
time is a couple of views etc.
Am getting pretty used to the
-3
can do.
Got hold of a big batch of
Melbourne Suns the other day,. it was
very nice to look through, a lot of things
of interest, even if they were fairly old.
Must be pretty hard on people
like Manda, not hearing from her
husband for 3 or 4 weeks, tell her to
tell Ian I'm getting along O.K.
& that I wish to be remembered to him.
I think that Duggan would be
very pleased at going up to the islands,
was breaking his neck to get away from
down there.
Suppose you & Mrs Mac have
a fair yarn pretty frequently, would have
a lot in common, Mac is getting along
very well, see a fair bit of him these days.
Well Love how are things with
you, & what are you doing to fill in your
time, I'm looking forward top the day that
I'll be back home with you again, lets
hope that it won't be very long either.
What is Mabel doing, is she still at
home, anymore of you two going up to

town, maybe it would be better if
you took on something up there, would
at least be more lively, as I know just
what the Q'cliff is like during the off
season.
Tell Ma that I haven't forgotten
her letter; Saturday morning. guess she
would be trying to pick out a few
for this afternoon, do you have an interest
in them at all these days.
The mail has just arrived & as
usual I wasn't disappointed, Sorry to
hear that you missed out, no Love I'm
still writing 2 a week.
Havnt been in any sight seeing
trips as yet, but hope to have a fair
look around next week.
You seem to be catching up on
all the dances you missed out on during
the last few years.
So Jack Butcher has a call
by all accounts its not worrying them
much, yes I reckon you & I did pretty well
after 5 yrs, it will last quite a lot
longer than that, as far as I'm concerned
P.T.O.

Well Rene I cant find any more news
at present so I better catch the mail.
Cheerio
With all my Love & Kisses

My Darling Rene,
Just a few lines to let
you know that I'm O.K & still in the
land of the living, hope that this finds
you & all at home the same.
Hope that you havnt
missed out on any letters, since you wrote
that short & not sweet one of yours, wouldn't
care very much for any more like that.
Am looking forward to the next mail
which should arrive either tomorrow or the
day after, I'm rather anxious to get hold
of that photo.
Enclosing a copy of the Malayan
Malady & Melody. They are rather a contrast
& both pretty good.
Please note that you will
have to address as per the above, & not
"ABROAD"
Havent been out very much

of late, but went for a stroll last
night, had a look in as a place,
an amusement park etc dance hall,
25 cents a dance. wasnt game to have
a go, often wish that I were able to
get around a bit, would be something
to do, afraid I've left it too late, getting
too old, should have taken more interest when
you started to teach me.
Weighed myself last night 10.12
thats a few pounds better than I've ever
been, so the hot climate hasnt effected
me up to date
How are things with you & all
at home, hope you are finding plenty
to occupy your mind, I often wonder
what you are doing with yourself,
get plenty of tome to think, never very
much to do at night time; no wireless,
a bit of reading is all that one can
do; maybe there is a better time coming
which might not be so far away.
Dont know about us getting
the rainy season here soon, but up to
the present, I think that it has raine

in that order. Glad you are feeling
happier now that you got those letters.
dont know what you will think of
the one I posted last week end, as I
felt the same as you. You say the
mail is you're only interest these days. I'm
that way too Love, that ambition of mine
still holds good.
Yes, I think I told you that Canteen
orders are O.K. here now, started a few weeks
ago. Its not worth while sending papers
other than the Globe, I see the rest.
You seem to see a few Newsreels
& pictures of Malaya, yes there are quite
a few nice buildings, & the scenery is
pretty decent, would sooner the Q'cliff
for all that.
Some of my mates over the other
way have gone along rather rapidly with
their promotion.
Noel & I compare notes have
had a few picks at him about that cable.
Well Sweetheart am unable to '
include any more pages in this letter, I'd better
finish up "cheerio"
Regards to Ma. Pa.& Mabel With all my Love and Kisses
