Boxing Tournament between 4 & 5 Camp
which 4 Camp won 30-20. As I write
this at 1.0 AM (6/10/42) we have been
searched by our Friends Nippon as they
Caught a lad & 5 got away carting
Cement out of Fogden Brisbane & Co.
It know was lucky (Thank God for it) that
another Party didn't try & get home. Have
to cut work tomorrow. Yesterday a
Chinaman was knocked down by a truck
& killed. 2 days ago 2 of our lads had
to hold a Pot Plant over their heads for ½ hour.
Seem to be going in for Gardening. Jack Bury &

from the Eurasians. Pulled up on Thompson
Road in front of an old Internee Camp.
Noticed quite a lot of Chinese funerals

Sandshoes & the Jap in Charge got them
to open up a Case. He got out a new
Pair & put his old ones in the bottom
of the Case. One of our lads told him 
to Rub dirt over them to take away the
newness. Out on the Bukit Timah
Scheme Job the Japs brought out a drum
of Turps for the Deasil Roller & wanted
to put the turps in. The Aussie in
Charge argued for ½ hour telling them it
was no good but the Jap finally put
the Turps in. The Roller went till
the Deasiline wore out & then stopped.
The Aussie was then told to fix the Motor
& as he couldn't, he was floored by
the Jap & then sent back to Changi

Trucks invented by the Pommeys. Put the

Arrived home at 2.40pm. Had a read

they caught 4 lads with Tobacco &
Sugar & Floored the first one with
consistent bashings & then across the
face with a Rubber Compo belt then the
Officer had to smack their faces & then
All Men in the Party had to hit them
& then they tied their hands together &
marched them in front of the party
all the way home

Breakfast Rice & Soup Home again today
& rested in the morning & played 500 & Crib
Lunch Rice & a Cake. Played soccer again in 
the evening & enjoyed it Tea Rice & Soup & a Fish
Cake. Cpl Thomas (a Pommey POW) a Jap
interpretor & 2 Japs went to Singapore & got
drunk & finished up at Bukit Timah? &
was picked up by a Jap Officer who took them
to camp & the three spent 10 days in jail together
They are starting to knock the Chinese about
for waving & Thumbs up & V with their hands to
us. In the [[Mien?]] Ambush they had to leave 10 trucks
of Wounded & the Japs poured Petrol over them &
burnt them alive (All AIF) 130 altogether
