whether he be a five year man or a one year man. The whole poaction stinks to sigh heaven and it is time someone back in Australia, with a bit of authority, woke up to what is going on. Forde is wailers - he would only call for another, one of his reports, which would drag out for about six months, and then accomplish nothing. Ho for shipping, there are boats leaving here every week, and I know for a pritive jact that a troopship left here a couple of weeks ago for Aurhalia, where it was to pet ap Duh Crosp for favo. It went back empty. Ah well £ guen we will just have to put up with is - the Govemmen is lo dopey to do anything about it We have acquired a fet monkey and he is as funing as a cireus. Some Yanks had him before Er and he is quite tame i sometimes I thiik he is more intelligent thes a les of chaps around here. He picks up things vy
quickly from the Coys and one of the puriest things is so see him weshing himself. He keep a tin of water filled for him and he washes his face and lands in this and then dres himself with a handhershief, put there for the purpose. whether he be a five year man or a one year

man. The whole position stinks to high

heaven and it is time someone back in

Australia, with a bit of authority, woke up to

what is going on. Forde is useless - he would

only call for another one of his reports, which

would drag out for about six months, and

then accomplish nothing. As for shipping, there

are boats leaving here every week, and I know

for a positive fact that a troopship left here a

couple of weeks ago for Australia, where it was

to pick up Dutch troops for Java. It went back

empty. Ah well, I guess we will just have

to put up with it - the Government is

too dopey to do anything about it.

We have acquired a pet monkey and he is

as funny as a circus. Some Yanks had him

before us and he is quite tame - sometimes

I think he is more intelligent than a lot

of chaps around here. He picks up things very

quickly from the boys and one of the funniest things

is to see him washing himself. We keep a

tin of water filled for him and he washes

his face and hands in this and then dries

himself with a handkerchief, put there for the

purpose. After that he picks up a piece of

comb and goes through the motions of combing

his hair. You should see him go for the

lolly - water - he puts on a devil of a turn

if we take the bottle away before he is finished.

I had a photo taken with him the other day

- it is not developed or printed yet, but

when it is I will send you one.

Guess I have run out of news now, Sis,

so will say so-long until next time.

Lots of Love

Frank

P.S. I am enclosing a photo taken up here

a couple of weeks ago.
