Up to Date have not had
a Bad time; & have not been
in the Line yet, altho' I am
with "Part" of the Battalion.
The Country round here
Looks tip top, much Nicer than
North, I think, but as for
getting anything you need
these Villages are "No Bon"
Can hardly get writing paper
even, let aLone anything
else, however its a Saving.
2.
Expect to get some maiL from
Some of you very shortly now.
hope so anyway as it is a
long time since I had any.
There are a Lot of chaps
billeted in this Village I know,
of aLL Battalions.
I manage to get enough in
the Food Line always, so that
is one good thing, isn't it?
I heard yesterday that
Clive HaLes has been killed
Hard Luck, Clair was taken
prisoner at Niewport, I believe.
They have a Decent Concert
party, here, our Division,
went last Night, & it was very
good, but not much of a
Building, not like the old
spot, Nord you know.
Will write in a day or two, I seem
to be Lost for News, again
