Fossil Colonels got seriously ill just
before we left Egypt & we left him
there. I am trying to get Geoff McCrae
made Colonel in his place. I hope
the old Chap doesn't come back for the
sake of his Regiment but apart
from that I wish him no harm
one way or another. Now if the
third old Fogey ^chap would trip over
a brick & break his leg or damage
himself in some way & I could
get Bert Layh made Colonel in
his place & I would be set up with
my Colonels just as I would like
Of course I would rather have Bob
Smith as Colonel than Geoff Mc
but that is impossible & Bob is not
Very loyal to me. It would however
a great comfort to me if anythin
happened to me to have Bob re
to succeed me as Brigadier. I woul
be easier in my mind about my BoBut we cannot have everything can Not even in wedded life, but we canbe very happy in spite of that, especiallywith the dearest sweetest sunshine ladyin all the world Tell me does oo love me petP. T. O.
