Dear Mab

No letter from you

for ever so long.

I met Dug Rodwell &

Charlie Pleydell a short while

ago - Both are looking well the

former a corporal latter Sergeant_

Arthur M. has his commission,

but of course you have been

advised of this long since.

Poor old Leslie _ nasty shock

for me _ I can quite understand

that Orbost people are much affected

by this - He was very popular &

deserved all the kindly thoughts_

I am a censor myself now

so can no longer attach the

responsibility for the brevity of

my letters to the poor much _

abused soul.

I always blackguarded the

censor for restrictions imposed

but view the matter quite differently

now _ How inconsistent we are-

I hope biz & everything &

everybody connected therewith

is alright- How do your

new responsibilities rest on you?

Kindly remember me to all

Mrs Saunders _ Vera _ Cyril _ Hilda _

Jack. H. & Kiss Mrs H. Cameron

for me.

Please also remember me to

all at home.

Heaps & Heaps of Love

& Kisses X–––––––––––X

No censor now barb wire

entanglement ad lib

Yours ever

Hec

Dear Mab

Your letters 2 reached

me a few days ago

After having a very decent

spell out of the line, we declared

war again, went up, boxed on

for seven days & grabbed a few

more acres from Fritz _ When

we were relieved & came out for

a short spell, I was informed that
my leave pass had come thro' & that

I must go to England for 10 days

holiday _ How awful _ however

mine not to reason why etc_

here I am installed as  above &

doing the heavy for 10 days.

I'll have photo taken

on Wednesday next & of course

post along some.

I met Jack Blaikie a couple

of days ago _ he looks well _

Keith Lynn is also with Blaikie

but I did not see Keith _

There is no news, at least

nothing that I can write about _

Remember me to all

Lots of Love

Yours ever

Hector.
