Dear Sir,
About one month ago
my friend (Mrs L. Davis, late of "Mona"
Pittwater Rd. Manly,) wrote to you,
prior to her departure for Melbourne
enclosing a young lady's photo, which
her brother, Lieutenant A Davis,
found on the battlefield at Anzac,
and she asked you to kindly reproduce
the photo in your paper in
order to trace the owner or the
original of same, but up to the present
I have not seen the photo reproduced
although we take the Herald every
morning & never miss reading its
contents. I am enclosing stamped
envelope & will be obliged if you
will kindly let me know whether
you intend reproducing the photo,
and in the event of you declining
to do so, I will call for it at your
office, but I would be very glad if
you could manage to it, as it is
Lieu. Davis' wish, and he is eager to
[*know who lost it, as he made numerous enquiries at
the battlefield before he returned it to his sister to have
a try. Thanking you in anticipation, and awaiting your
reply. Yours faithfully Nita Keerle*]
