Letter from William Babington Dynes to Mr Reeve, Editor of the Sydney Morning Herald

Aug 25th 16.
Dear Mr Reeve,
I have had two or three
shots to get the enclosed away but
owing to the censorship having become
more rigid than ever I have had no
luck. However an opportunity now
offers & I think you will get it alright.
What I am sending was what I wrote
at the time the facts of which I gathered
on the spot for I was there. I could add
much to it but I think it would not
be wise at present. Our losses were serious
& principally due to a man who you will
remember returned from the front at
Gallipoli and received no great reception
and at the same time was previously responsible
for the Liverpool riots.
I will have another chance of writing
you in a week or so & I will send
along some more copy. I have already
posted you several letters but as there
2
is the chance of you not getting them
I would like to know if they have
arrived & if suitable.
I wrote three or four letters to Mr
Fairfax & several to yourself
with business address on.
Excuse haste
Yrs sincerely
WB Dynes
